Of course I tried this, and I should have said and then in my original post. Both windows and and Acer'south commuter update  monitor say I am all defenseless up. The camera won't turn off.

1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard, select Device managing director.
2. Expand Imaging Devices .

Well, that'southward fine – until I want to utilise the camera. Say I want to make a Skype call. I reactivate the camera only it gets hijacked by something. Skype won't  operate. It says another awarding is using the camera. But I tin't tell which application. Task managing director doesn't betoken any application. And I can't turn the camera off. That is, I can't plow it off without disabling it. Back to foursquare 1. Aid!

fourteen Oct 2016, still I accept the very same trouble, is it a Windows ten feature?  The spider web cam worked OK on Windows 7.

Did yous ever figured it out?  Same issue here.  upgraded to Windows 10 and now webcam is not working in any app apart from point grab!!! Looked everywhere but no luck.  Anybody has the answer to that one?

That's a dainty canned response. However, Microsoft is the manufacturer in my case. And the camera works fine, every bit does the mic built into it. Cortana tin hear me. I have a Live! Cam Chat Hd (VF0700) and information technology is working fine, But something is keeping the calorie-free on, and it looks like Microsoft, because its a fresh install, with nothing installed yet.
